2020  Raceland-Worthington High School Kiwanis Scholarship Winner

 


 Ron Fraley, Vice President of the Kiwanis Club East Greenup County, presents a $1,000 check to Elizabeth Roy,  as the recipient of the 2020 Key Club scholarship at Raceland-Worthington High School.

Roy, daughter of Regina Brown and Jamie Roy, is currently weighing her options between the University of Louisville and the University of Kentucky. She plans to pursue a degree in biological engineering and has interest in working on development of prosthetics and other life-saving equipment found in hospitals.

As a Key Club member at Raceland, Roy worked with Kiwanis members on the annual pancake breakfast with Santa, worked on a project to donate blankets to Hope’s Place and volunteered at the McConnell House. Key Club is a high school organization sponsored by Kiwanis. She also belonged to the Beta Club, academic team and tennis team at Raceland. She served as captain of the academic team.

                              2020 RUSSELL KEY CLUB KIWANIS SCHOLARSHIP WINNER 


Ron Fraley , Vice  President of Kiwanis Club of East Greenup County, presents  a $1,000 check to Maxton Zane Cantrell as the recipient of the 2020 Key Club scholarship at Russell High School.

Cantrell is the son of Chuck and Crystal Cantrell and is planning to attend either Northern Kentucky University or Georgetown College where he will pursue courses in biology. In Key Club at Russell he worked on the Thanksgiving basket project and a clothing drive.

He was a four-year member of the soccer and basketball team, ran cross country and track three years and was president of the FCA. He also worked with Big Brothers/Big Sisters and Helping Hands and this summer has worked for Kona Ice.
